What is your favorite family tradition?

We love to go to the lake, hike, camp, or just be outdoors whenever we possibly can.

Tell us about your favorite family story.

Our favorite family story is the story of how Knox was born. It was very unexpected and terrifying, but God has a plan for everyone. All I have to say is thank goodness for Kidney stones. I don't think anyone would ever thank God for those!

Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your family story?

I recently gave birth to our first child, a boy. He came into this world with a bang. He was born with a Congenital Heart Disease called Transposition of the Greater Arteries. We had no idea before he was born that he had this condition.

He has shown us how strong he is and how amazing God is. Prayer is the most powerful thing in this world and we believe that prayer helped us and Knox through his surgery and continues to bless us every day.

What's your number one tip for new parents?

Take one day at a time. Some days are going to be so hard, but it won't last forever. They won't be this little forever. Love them, snuggle them, sleep with them, and hold them as long as you want.

What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?

How resilient and strong these little babies are. It is amazing to watch them grow, heal, and learn about life even if they are so young and tiny.

Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)

I am sure as a new parent, we have all been through the "situation". This is what I like to call it when you're changing a diaper and you leave everything out in the open for a little too long. Kids will amaze you with how they get everything so messy. The best part is, you still find spots to clean after awhile that you never thought the mess could reach.
