The Baxter Family
What is your favorite family tradition?
Christmas pjs! My hubby and I have gotten matching Christmas pjs for several years and have been excited to one day include our child in that tradition. We had that chance this Christmas- our baby girl was born Dec. 21. We will definitely keep this thing going for years to come (until she gets "too cool" to match her parents).
Tell us about your favorite family story.
We are a very young family. Our babe is only one month old, so we don't have many family stories yet. My favorite story so far is the one of how we became a family. Our journey to parenthood was not easy. It took a couple years, lots of tears, and never-ending hope. That journey finally ended happily. "Everything happens for a reason." While that was a tough motto to remember for a while, it is so true. Our sweet girl was worth waiting for.
What is your family's motto?
Everything happens for a reason!

What's your number one tip for new parents?
Trust your instincts. Nobody knows what they are doing as parents, but somehow when you become a parent, an instinct kicks in- listen to it!
What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?
Babies make some crazy noises (and faces) while they are sleeping! At first, it's terrifying. As you get to know your baby, they are adorable and not so terrifying!
Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)
You always hear about little boys peeing everywhere when they get their diapers changed, well I'm here to tell you that little girls do it too! Siena was having her diaper changed and bam! pee literally everywhere!
So we get her over to the bath, where she then pees in the water. We drain the bath, put in fresh water, and get her squeaky clean. What happens next? Well, she poops in the water. Luckily my hubs has quick reflexes and was able to grab her out of the water before she got dirty again.
Needless to say, warm water really relaxes our girl! Haha!
