The Chmiel Family
What is your favorite family tradition?
Hmmmm...we don't really have family traditions, just that we are a small (yet extended) family that love each other and share a lot of great times together.
Tell us about your favorite family story.
Well, I have many beautiful people to speak of.... a brother whom I adore, 2 amazing biological children (with amazing spouses), 5 sweet grandchildren including extended grandchildren.... (and 2 more on the way), 4 wonderful step children, 1 super - extended daughter, many beautiful in laws and their families....We are a blended family that shares much joy and love. We don't always get to see one another but when we do...we pick up right where we were.
Is there anything else you'd like us to know about your family story?
Just that being open to life changes helps, loving those that may have differences will make it all worthwhile.
Share Your Parenting Wisdom
What's your number one tip for new parents?
This is a Poem I wrote for my grandson, I believe this is my advice.
You are a gift from the Universe, you have been gifted with this life.A life that has filled you with dreams beyond our expectations, dreams you will need to explore and dreams you can share with those that love you. These are our declarations to you: To Listen…. To your heart, your words, your hopes and your dreams. To Look…. Into your soul for truth.....your truth.
To Promise.... To see what you are seeing... through your eyes, regardless of what we see. We will encourage you to honor your choices and will guide you when those choices take you off course. We will help you move doubt aside, so you may believe in your visions and your purpose.
We will guide you to choose each moment as a beautiful opportunity. You are here to capture every smile, you are here to share your beauty, your love and your wisdom unconditionally. Lucas, You are our son.........you are OUR gift to and from the universe.
What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?
Hardest, That you have to let them go.
Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)
