The Cossey Family
What is your favorite family tradition?
my all time favorite is Christmas. Christmas Eve ever since I was a little girl, the entire family gets a new pair of pajamas, we have dinner, track Santa on the online tracker and make cookies to sit out for him before bed. Being able to show my husband our tradition while doing it with our daughter and son (for the first year since he was born in July) is the icing on the cake. Seeing our little girls eyes light up is what makes our heart explode of happiness.

I don't have an absolute favorite because every story is my favorite. Becoming a family is my favorite. Teaching eachother new things, going on adventures together, experiencing new things together and just spending time with eachother is my absolute favorite thing in the world. My husband works 1300 miles from home so any time he's home we go in our backyard, he grills, while we have our friends over just enjoying the outside and visiting. Family means everything to me so having my own little family in our perfect home is my favorite.

I love you forever

What's your number one tip for new parents?
Don't take one day for granted. Kids grow so fast and in the blink of an eye they are no longer wanting to cuddle, give you hugs and kisses, or sit still long enough to watch a movie with you. Get all the cuddles while you can.
So what if you spoil them? They are only little for so long. Make it a point to have 'family time' or even a mommy daughter night, daddy daughter night, or if it's a boy a night with your son. You'll never get those times back. Enjoy it while you can because they'll eventually be out of the house and you'll be wanting those days back.
What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?
Recently we've welcomed our second baby and it surprised me just exactly how much 2 kids can be SO different. My daughter loved car rides while my son hates them. My daughter will sit in the floor and play While entertaining herself (always has) and my son wants my constant attention. Can we say mommas boy!?
Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)
I try to involve my daughter, who is 4 years old in everything and teach her what things are in the world so that way as she adventures out into the real world she isn't completely blind to things. When I gave birth to my son, who is now 3 months old, I was going through post partum things. As we were in public having to go to the bathroom she would yell 'IS THAT A DIAPER MOMMY?' Needless to say I couldn't help but die laughing but feel so embarrassed all at the same time.
To this day she still goes around telling strangers that her momma wore a diaper. I learned to try to not let her see what the female body does anymore. Momma doesn't need her business out!
