What is your favorite family tradition?
Oh gosh, do I have to pick just one? 🙈 Italian Mamas HAVE to overdo everything, so let me see if I can narrow it down to two or three for you. 🤣
•Family Recipe Parties, so many laughs and even a few tears as we make batches and batches of our favorite recipes from our grandmother. Some of them are handwritten in her print. Plus, let's just be honest here, I love carbs.
•There is an adorable little town in Michigan about an hour or two away called Frankenmuth. It's one of the most picturesque spots in the state, yet it's located in the middle of nowhere. When I was a little girl, we used to go there for a quick family getaway ALL the time. Now my husband and I have the pleasure of taking our infant.
•When something that's kind of a big deal happens (Honeymoons, Baby Announcements, and First Birthdays) we Disney!

Ugh, I can't choose just one, and we covered a lot of material in the family tradition section, but I'm always down for a cute story. When I was in the OR delivering my baby, I was in pain AND on meds. I have no idea why it came out of my mouth, but I looked right at my husband and said "sing me a song." He started singing to me, and the next thing you know, the entire OR has joined in. The doctors, the nurses, the anesthesiologist, the techs, the residents... it was hilarious, and at the time I thought nothing of it.

What's your number one tip for new parents?
My number one tip, is not to listen to other people's "tips." Everyone is so quick to tell you about all of the challenges of parenthood, all of the things that could go wrong, and what worked for them. Every family and every baby is different, so just trust yourself, and if you can't then call your pediatrician or your OBGYN. Don't let the cashier at Target, your mother-in-law, or your co-workers scare you with their unwanted advice.
What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?
I am so much more strong, brave, and calm than I ever could have imagined.
Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)
We're ready for baby's first outing and of course, he is dressed to the nines. I thought I'd do a quick diaper change in the backseat before heading inside... and you know the rest 💩. It's everywhere. All because, God FORBID I had to bring my three week old baby into a public bathroom. 🤣 Goodbye adorable white knitted sweater outfit, HELLO oversized ugly bear PJs from my diaper bag.
