What is your favorite family tradition?

Christmas breakfast is my absolute favorite... hands down! This is the one morning that we all stop and get together for a good southern breakfast.

My husband and I host this breakfast every year and it is always a time that our family can slow down and just enjoy each other and catch up. We spend so much time together through the year, but this particular morning is very special!

Tell us about your favorite family story.

My favorite family story would have to be the birth of my sweet grandson, Sam. I have never known a love like this. He has added so much love to our family and just made it complete! When I saw him for the first time, I was completely in love. Watching my daughter and son-in-law become parents was such a tremendous blessing to me.

What's your number one tip for new parents?

Well.. I am a new grandparent but my advice would have to be to let them be little. They are only little for a short season so cuddle them and love on them as much as possible.

What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?

As a new GRANDparent, I think the most surprising thing is just to see how unbelievably amazing my grandson is. I knew he would be great before he was born, but he is so much better than I could have ever imagined.

I have been so surprised by the way he has changed our family for the better and the was he has molded my daughter and son in law into a parents. It's a really beautiful thing!

Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)

Well as the grandparent, I am not with Sam all the time, but I do keep him during the day while my daughter and son-in-law work. One of the funniest things for me was when Sam found his tongue!

He LOVES to sit and stick his tongue out at me. One day when I was feeding him, he was so hungry but he couldn't keep his little tongue still long enough to take his bottle. It was so funny!!
