What is your favorite family tradition?

We have always loved celebrating the 4th of July. 'Merica, cookouts, and fireworks were the center of our celebrations. This year our own little firecracker came into the world. Now Michael and I have an even better reason to celebrate, Crockett's birthday!!!

Tell us about your favorite family story.

Michael and I met on college, however we didn't date until after we graduated and had been working a couple of years. When we started dating we knew a wedding was around the corner. After getting married and traveling we decided to start a family.

We were lucky that God blessed us with our little boy very soon in the trying process. At 8 months pregnant we moved cities. I think this was a great way to show how we can band together before Crockett came.

Crockett made his grand entrance into the world on July 4th. Becoming a parent has been challenging, but to see his face smiling because he sees you and knows how much you love him, is worth all the sleepless nights.

What is your family's motto?

Proud to be a Merriman

What's your number one tip for new parents?

Michael- If someone offers you help, accept graciously, and take a nap. Morgan- Have patience and be kind.

What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?

How easy it is to get wrapped up in Crockett. Don't forget about each other and what you had before baby.

Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)

Crockett is just 2 months old, so he's just learning to make sounds. When he's starting to get tired he adds a "merp" sound to his cry. So I decided to do it to him and he would immediately copy me. This went back and forth about 7 times. Michael and I were dying laughing!
