Our favorite tradition is taking long weekends away in Lake Chelan, our favorite city here in Washington. The kids play on the beach, at the pool, play putt putt golf and we spend lazy days at our favorite wineries overlooking the beautiful lake soaking up the sun, or snow!
One that really sticks out in my mind is our recent trip to Disneyland. My son was so thoughtful and protective of his baby sister, he went on all of the baby rides with her, and would carry her or push her stroller as needed. And he would always say " I think we should take a break, Maddy is tired" and never batted an eye if we left the park for nap time (maybe that is because it meant pool time for him!).
Stay busy, and have fun!
I am a working mom. My husband is a firefighter, and served in the US Navy. We are sports nuts! Our son plays baseball, basketball and football!
Take your parents/friends/family up on the offer to watch your babies! There is nothing like a parent's night out...or in!
Not all kids are the same. My son and daughter are so different in so many ways, you have to learn to roll with the punches and not be afraid to try to tactics.
When my son was about 4, my husband had gone upstairs to take a shower while MJ played in the play area. In that play area was a microfiber couch (note the past tense...). When my husband came downstairs from his quick shower, he found MJ looking up at him, smiling, holding out return address stamp in front of the couch that was now covered in our last name and address!!
