What is your favorite family tradition?
Because of the jobs me & my husband have, we don't really get many weekends together, so when we do have a weekend together, it's our favorite to take our girls to the downtown part of our city. We just have a slow day, we walk around, get lunch, the girls run around at the little park, & we get a little dessert. It's so simple, but honestly fills my heart so much!
Tell us about your favorite family story.
Oh wow, there are just too many. But I have to say my favorite ongoing family story is the way our daughters love each other & how their relationship blooms every day. Our oldest, Nohlyn, is always sharing things with her little sister, running over to her when she falls down. She tells her "Rowie, you're my best friend", or tells her "I'm so proud of you Rowie!" It makes me tear up!
What is your family's motto?
Just keep loving!

What's your number one tip for new parents?
Say no! Create that newborn "bubble". It's ok to say no to seeing people & doing things. Lay in bed, snuggle your baby, & do nothing. That precious time is SO fleeting so soak it up!
What has been the most surprising thing you've learned as a parent?
I've been so surprised at how much I've needed to grow. I jokingly say that I used to think I was a pretty good person before kids...but now...there's so much I need to work on. It's actually the hugest blessing. Having kids has exposed the parts of your heart that really need growing. Kid's can force you to become a better person if you do the work! And it's worth the work!
Tell us about your funniest parenting story (we all have them!)
My husband had to work one Sunday morning, & I was determined to get me & my girls to church on time all while looking cute. I got us all ready & I was so excited because we were even going to be a bit early. Right as we were walking out the door Nohlyn (almost 2.5 & had just been potty trained) said she needed to go the bathroom.
So I set Rowie down (7 months & just learned how to crawl) in the living room while I helped Nohlyn. When I came back, I was so shocked to see Rowie & my carpet completely covered in baby powder! I had forgotten & left it out on the ground when I was changing her diaper. It's safe to say, we were extremely late for church!
